education internships
Piedmont Wildlife Center’s Education Internships are geared towards individuals seeking experience in outdoor/environmental education, naturalist/survivalist skills, and mentoring. Interns will learn to:
Practice educational program design and presentation in our summer and intersession camps, Earth Keepers afterschool program, and/or Homeschool in the Wild.
Explore tactics & observe professionals in the field for developing an active learning environment.
Explore natural history and learn to recognize and understand native flora and fauna.
Propose and complete an independent project by the end of the internship.
Special attention can be given to individual topics by request.
Fall Internships (September-December) are part-time positions with our afterschool and homeschool programs. They are a minimum of 12 weeks in length. Fall interns will receive a weekly stipend.
Spring Internships (January-May) are part-time positions with our afterschool and homeschool programs. They are a minimum of 12 weeks in length. Spring interns will receive a weekly stipend.
Summer Internships (June-August) are full-time positions with our summer camp programs and are a minimum of 6 weeks in length. Summer interns will receive a weekly stipend.
