LIABILITY RELEASE FOR ADULTS AND MINORS

In consideration of registration for the above programs for myself or as legal guardian of said minor(s), I, intending to be legally bound, hereby for myself and heirs, executors and administrators, waive and release any and all rights and claims for damages I may have against Piedmont Wildlife Center, their representatives, successors, assigns and host landowners, for accident or injury incurred by myself or said minor during or because of this event. The Releasor releases and forever discharges the Releasee, their directors, officers, employees, agents, assigns and successors from all manner of actions, causes of action, debts, accounts, claims and demands for or by any damage, loss or injury to person and property which may be sustained while attending said event. I, as parent or legal guardian, do hereby grant Piedmont Wildlife Center (PWC) staff the right to authorize emergency medical treatment for the participant named above in the event that I, or my designated representative, cannot be reached. I agree to hold harmless Piedmont Wildlife Center and its agents from liability arising out of an accident. The NC Good Samaritan Law will apply. This agreement will be construed in accordance with and governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina. It is declared that the terms of this Release of claim are fully understood.

IMAGE POLICY

Piedmont Wildlife Center uses images for promotional purposes. If you do not want your or your child’s image to be used for marketing or promotion purposes, please provide written notice prior to the program dates.

Bathroom Policy

At many of our sites, our only available facilities are port-a-potties or outhouses. Due to the nature of our programming, we are sometimes too far away from these facilities to make it back in time. If this is the case, we will instruct campers on Leave No Trace practices and assist them in knowing how to use the facili-trees before making sure they have the privacy to do their business.

 ACTIVITY SAFETY POLICY

During programs, campers have the ability to participate in potentially hazardous activities, including, but not limited to, tree climbing, whittling with knives, fire making, and/or going barefoot. These activities are supervised by trained counselors and are only undertaken with strict safety rules. If you do not wish your camper to participate in one or more of these activities, please notify us ahead of their camp program at camp@piedmontwildlifecenter.org.

RIDESHARE POLICY

Campers cannot be picked up by any rideshares such as Uber, Lyft, and Taxis. If a rideshare comes to pick up your camper, please note that we will not allow them to enter the vehicle. This does not apply to carpooling with other families.

 Camp / homeschool cancellation policy

You must email cancellation requests to camp@piedmontwildlifecenter.org by May 15th for any summer camps and at least six weeks prior to the beginning of any school-year program. Any cancellations made after this time will only be refunded if we fill your child’s place.

You may receive your refund in the following ways.

  • Refund - your card will be refunded with your tuition minus a 10% cancellation fee.

Weather Cancellation policy

In order to fairly honor staff contracts and ensure our ability to offer safe and quality programming, there will be no refunds or discounts offered for program cancellations due to natural disasters, unsafe inclement weather, or other related circumstances outside of our control. In these instances, staff will provide notice of program cancellation as soon as possible.

PROGRAM CHANGE / TRANSFER POLICY

There is a 5% administrative fee for any changes. This includes Adult Programs, Pop up tours, Owl Prowls, Homeschool Programs, Camps, Afterschool, and Aftercare.  When registering for Programs and Camps please plan accordingly. Transfer requests between camp registrations will only be granted if spots are available.

Registration requirements POLICY

Participants must fulfill the requirements of each program. We require that participants be the minimum age designated for each program by the date that the program begins. In addition, campers wishing to be CITS must meet all requirements listed here. If a participant is registered for a program and they do not meet these requirements, they will be withdrawn from the program and provided a refund minus a 10% administrative fee.
