WAITLIST FOR CAMPERS & CITS

Comfort and community can be built anywhere! In this camp, we will learn about shelters, fires, and primitive structures of all kinds. Learn what makes good mud, where to find the best rocks, and how to make a roof waterproof! Join us as we explore the forests and streams while responsibly using the resources the land has given us!

June 17 - 21: Fairy Folklore

WAITLIST FOR CAMPERS & cits

Fairies, gnomes, trolls, and sprites! We will hear ancient stories and lore from around the world. Together we will construct fairy villages and gnome homes. We will adventure to magical places in the forest to look for elusive friends. Make a costume from nature’s bounty and invent mystical tales of your own. This week is all about imagination!

*This is a four-day camp to honor the holiday of Juneteenth

Let curiosity be your guide! Each day is a different adventure where we will discover the secrets of nature through outdoor games, hands-on activities, and question-based learning. Campers will connect with the many plants and animals of Piedmont by exploring the environments they occupy!

July 1 - 3: Owl Eyes

OPEN SPOTS FOR campers & CITS

Join us as we discover the wonders of birds! We'll immerse ourselves in the art and science of ornithology and discover what we can learn from the birds around us. We will learn how to understand the secret language they speak and practice awareness techniques to sharpen our senses for exploration and games.

*This is a three-day camp due to the July 4th holiday

July 8 - 12: Woodland Games

Fully engage your mind and body while playing some of PWC’s famous woodland games! Join us for story-driven games that encourage fair and honorable play. Children will learn to work in groups and resolve conflicts in a safe environment. During these games, your child will strive to be quiet as a fox, fast as a wolf, and persistent as the wind!

July 15 - 19: Forest Edge

The forest holds many mysteries, and each step carries a new lesson. This camp introduces campers to survival skills through a series of group challenges. As their woodland wisdom grows, they will unlock new opportunities!

*This camp is simultaneous with Deep Forest, which allows older campers to practice more specialized skills.

July 15 - 19: Deep Forest

New challenges await those who delve deeper into the forest. This camp focuses on advanced wilderness skills: what can you achieve without matches, ropes, or guidebooks?

*This is an advanced course for older campers who are able to travel farther away from basecamp and practice more advanced wilderness skills.

Have you ever wanted to sail the seven seas? Even though we are all landlubbers at PWC, we can still experience some of the thrills of being a pirate. Whittle your own peg leg, create your own Jolly Roger, build your own boat to race in the creek, and more. By the end of the week, we will all be best mateys!

We will hone our senses to make music inspired by birdsong, paintings inspired by the colors of the forest, and rhythms inspired by raindrops. Bring home artwork, instruments, and songs. This camp is all about knowing what creatures and critters live in our neighborhoods. What are they doing? How can we help them live peacefully in the wild? Our week will be filled with up-close encounters, hands-on discovery, games, stories, little-known facts, and perplexing mysteries. The wonder of life science will be our central theme and we will be modern naturalists exploring everything we see.

This camp will be the last hurrah of the summer! Don a mask and become a character to explore the natural world through acting, improv, and storytelling! Warm up your stage voices to sing, act and put on a show as we learn from ancient stories and the world around us. We will design sets and costumes, write miniature plays, and interpret old stories in a new way. Come play, explore, and express yourself!
