JUNIOR NATURALIST DAYS

Drop-off: 8:30 - 9:00 AM
Pick-up: 2:45 - 3:00 PM

CIT price (ages 13-17): $45

Option to add aftercare until 5:30 PM for an additional fee

Our Wild for a Days are special one-day camps held on teacher workdays and holidays. Join us in the forest for the day as we practice naturalist and survival skills, explore parks, meet local wildlife, and play some of our favorite woodland games!

Location: Historic Yates Mill county Park (4620 Lake Wheeler Rd, Raleigh, NC 27603)

Join Piedmont Wildlife Center for our brand new Junior Naturalist Camps! Each day, campers will learn about the natural world through hands-on investigation and scientific inquiry. This camp is perfect for a budding ecologist or nature lover!

CITs (Counselors in Training) are required to attend our Teen Outdoor Leadership Camp.

 

Junior Naturalist camp: ecology

September 21st - 25th

Camper- $400 CIT-$180

This week, campers will explore the many ecosystems at Historic Yates Mill County Park. We will investigate plants and animals through experiments, games, and crafts! Together, we'll learn what makes a healthy ecosystem and discover our role in the balance of nature!

 

Junior Naturalist Camp: Habitats

October 12th - October 16th

Camper- $400 CIT-$180

This week, campers will explore animal habitats at Historic Yates Mill County Park. We will learn about the animals who call the park home, including fish, birds, and beavers!

 

Junior Naturalist camp: Botany

March 8th - 12th

Camper- $400 CIT-$180

This week, campers will explore the wonderful world of plants at Historic Yates Mill County Park. We will search the wetlands for signs of life, observe phytoplankton under a microscope, and design our own experiments!

 

Junior naturalist Camp: Water

March 29th - April 2nd

Camper- $400 CIT-$180

This week, campers will explore the rich water resources at Historic Yates Mill County Park. We will search for macroinvertebrates, design water quality experiments, and learn from real scientists!
