Due to the outdoor and wooded nature of our facility, some parts of the facility will be inaccessible to wheelchairs, walking aids, and those with additional mobility concerns. Since we are on a City of Durham Park, we are limited in the improvements and additions we can implement. If you have any concerns or questions, please call us at 919-489-0900 before booking a group volunteer day.

Type of Volunteer Opportunity

We offer two types group volunteer opportunities: Wildlife Architects: Raptor Enclosure Maintenance - Volunteers will assist our Husbandry Manager in cleaning, sanitizing and updating our raptor enclosures. This opportunity is two and a half hours and is best for groups of 5-12. Participants must be 18+ Creativity and Creatures: Animal Enrichment Making- Volunteers will assist our Enrichment Manger to create enrichment out of recycled materials for our Wildlife Ambassadors. This opportunity takes two hours and is best for groups of 4 - 6. Please select the volunteer opportunity of your choice.
