Comfort and community can be built anywhere! In this camp, we will learn about shelters, fires, and primitive structures of all kinds. Learn what makes good mud, where to find the best rocks, and how to make a roof waterproof! Join us as we explore the forests and streams while responsibly using the resources the land has given us!
Looking for a great way to spend your track out or winter break? Piedmont Wildlife Center is excited to offer track out camps beginning in the fall of 2024! We offer week-long camps for all four tracks of the WCPSS year-round calendar, as well as a winter break camp that lines up with everyone’s schedule! Whether your students are looking for an adventurous, water-filled week or just a week to unplug and hang out in nature, we've got them covered. They'll come back to school energized to use their owl eyes and deer ears!
Track out camps operate out of Umstead State Park in northwest Raleigh. With some of the best trails in the triangle, our campers have plenty of opportunities to explore the great outdoors! Typical camp activities include creek exploration, whittling, fire building, shelter building, and plenty of games! Check out our photo gallery to see all the fun we had last season!
CITs (Counselors in Training) are required to attend Teen Outdoor Leadership Camp.
If you are interested in being a CIT 2 for these camps, please email us.
