WILD FOR A DAY

spring Single-Day Camps

Drop-off: 8:30 - 9:00 AM
Pick-up: 2:45 - 3:00 PM

CIT price (ages 13-17): $45

Option to add aftercare until 5:30 PM for an additional fee

Our Wild for a Days are special one-day camps held on teacher workdays and other holidays. Join us in the forest for the day as we practice naturalist and survival skills, explore the parks, meet the local wildlife, and play some of our favorite woodland games!

CITs (Counselors in Training) are required to attend Outdoor Leadership Camp.

Spend a week in the wild with some of our favorite camp themes! These camps are designed for fall breaks or track-out schools. Campers will have a week to learn specific skills and play our favorite Piedmont Wildlife Center games!

CITs (Counselors in Training) are required to attend our Teen Outdoor Leadership Camp.

 

Animal Detectives

September 21st - 25th

Camper- $385 CIT-$180

The forest is full of clues! Join us as we search for tracks, scat, animal habitats, and more! Campers will engage their five senses to learn about the life cycle, diet, and behavior of our woodland neighbors. Become a detective and help us solve the mysteries of the forest!

 

Woodland Games

September 28th - October 2nd

Camper- $385 CIT-$180

Fully engage your mind and body while playing some of PWC’s famous woodland games! Join us for story-driven games that encourage appreciation of the natural world. Children will learn to work in groups and resolve conflicts in a safe environment. During these games, your child will strive to be quiet as a fox, fast as a wolf, and persistent as the wind!

 

ART-thropods

October 5th - 9th

Camper- $385 CIT-$180

Chirping crickets, colorful butterflies, and delicate orb weavers - these creatures exhibit incredible beauty and creativity! We will explore the unique ways these organisms interact with their environment, and express what we’ve learned with colors, songs, costumes, stories, and more!

 

Unbe-LEAF-able

March 15th - 19th

Camper- $385 CIT-$180

Explore the wonderful world of trees! Discover the important role trees play in the forest ecosystem and our everyday lives. Which animals depend on trees for shelter? How many different ways do humans use trees? How can we identify different types of trees? Together, we will answer these questions through sensory learning, art, and lots of games!

 

Wildlife Science

March 22nd - 26th

Camper- $385 CIT-$180

This camp is all about knowing what creatures and critters live in our neighborhoods. What are they doing? How can we help them live peacefully in the wild? Our week will be filled with up close encounters, hands-on discovery, little known facts, and perplexing mysteries. The wonder of life science will be our central theme and we will wield all of the tools of the modern naturalists so we can explore everything we see.

 

Fairy Folklore

March 29th - April 2nd

Camper- $385 CIT-$180

Fairies, gnomes, trolls, and sprites! We will hear ancient stories and lore from around the world. Together we will construct fairy villages and gnome homes. We will adventure to magical places in the forest to look for elusive friends. Make a costume from nature’s bounty and invent mystical tales of your own. This week is all about imagination!
