Contractual Field Trip Educator: Contractual Field Trip Educators will help to run raptor tours during field trips with the opportunity to be trained on animal programming. We teach natural history lessons and conservation practices with the help of our ambassador animals during birthday parties, on-site field trips and at-school programs. This is an extremely part-time position (~5-10 hours per month) and hours will vary greatly depending on the program schedule. This is a great opportunity for those looking to get experience with education, but have a limited schedule. Since field trips occur during the weekdays, we are specifically looking for an educator with weekday availability. Summer Camp Support Admin: The summer camp support admin provides administrative support for the operation of the summer camp programs. Responsibilities include buying supplies, serving as a camp-office liaison for all three locations (Durham, Wake, Orange), assisting with camp drop off and pick up, organizing camp photos, creating social media posts, providing support for counselors or campers in need, and serving as substitute camp staff when needed. The typical work week is M-F, 7:30 AM– 3:30 PM but candidates should be flexible with a changing schedule. Some days may start and end slightly later based on camp needs. Hours worked will not exceed 30-40 hours per week.

Outdoor Summer Camp Counselor: Outdoor Camp Counselors will plan and facilitate engaging activities for youth day camp programs that focus on developing deep nature connections. Counselors are responsible for safely leading groups of 12-15 campers ages 5-12 and one Counselor-in-Training age 13-17 through outdoor educational activities while monitoring both individual and group needs and adapting plans to help all individuals successfully engage in programming. Whether experienced in education, advanced survival, environmental science, or outdoor recreation, counselors should be passionate about sharing their unique skillset with campers, helping them develop their own connection to nature, and inspiring them to protect the natural world around them. This position is available at our Durham and Orange locations.

Summer Aftercare Counselor: Aftercare Counselors step in at the end of a full camp day. Ideal persons for this position are able to lead a group of inter-aged children in a public park with another counselor. Counselors will spend time with campers leading activities such as crafts, games, nature exploration, and free play while facilitating pick-up. Whether experienced in education, naturalist skills, environmental science, and/or outdoor recreation, counselors should be passionate about sharing their unique skillset with campers, helping them develop their own connection to nature, and inspiring them to protect the natural world around them. This position is available at our Durham, Orange, and Wake county locations.

Summer Camp Specialty Counselor: Specialty Camp Counselors should have thorough knowledge and teaching ability for unique outdoor and nature skills. These counselors will plan and facilitate engaging activities for specialty youth day camp programs that focus on developing deep nature connections and sharpening nature skills. Counselors are responsible for safely leading groups of 12-15 campers ages 5-12 and one Counselor-in-Training age 13-17 through outdoor educational activities while monitoring both individual and group needs and adapting plans to help all individuals successfully engage in programming. Whether experienced in education, advanced survival, environmental science, or outdoor recreation, counselors should be passionate about sharing their unique skillset with campers, helping them develop their own connection to nature, and inspiring them to protect the natural world around them. Unique skills we are looking for include: advanced fire building, flint knapping, advanced shelter building, trap making, archery, tracking, foraging, botany/forest ecology, natural craft making, etc. This position is available at our Durham and Orange county locations.
