Turtle-Dog Days of Summer

Turtle-Dog Days of Summer

I found a turtle!

Have you ever heard of a Turtle-Dog? If not, you don’t want to miss this event! Thanks to UNC-Greensboro’s HERP Project, the Turtle-Dogs will be visiting Piedmont Wildlife Center.  These boykin spaniels are trained to find and carefully retrieve box turtles for scientific research.  Come watch the dogs in action and help PWC collect data.  John Rucker, a self-trained naturalist and turtle-dog trainer, will be here to lead the dogs into PWC’s woods to find these well-camouflaged critters.
