Gail Abrams – Executive Director

Gail has a B.S. degree in Physical Education from Towson University and a M.S. degree in Outdoor Education from Northern Illinois University.  She has been leading environmental education organizations and developing raptor education programs for the past 25 years. Sarah Haggerty – Director of Education

Sarah loves the natural areas of the Piedmont.  She has been studying natural history and the flora and fauna of the Piedmont from an early age.  She has a degree in Environmental Education from Warren Wilson College.  Sarah joined Piedmont Wildlife Center in the spring of 2008. gumby Montgomery – Lead Educator

gumby has been studying natural history for a number of years  independently, as well as through courses in wilderness schools across the countrygumby is a teacher, a storyteller, and a mentor who practices the art of coyote mentoring.  gumby joined Piedmont Wildlife Center in 2008 and currently teaches naturalist classes and programs for people of all ages. Natalie Zucchino – Education/Volunteer Coordinator

Natalie graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a BA in Biology. She first joined the Piedmont Wildlife Center community as an intern for the 2009 summer camp season, which is when she discovered her love for nature education. In September 2010 Natalie joined the staff of PWC as the coordinator for education programs and volunteer projects.  You can contact Natalie at natalie@piedmontwildlifecenter.org.

 

Sara Marschhauser – Conservation Coordinator

Sara is our most recent addition to PWC and is joining us as the new Conservation Coordinator.  Sara grew up in Apex, North Carolina and loved the natural world from an early age.   She attended the University of North Carolina Wilmington where she received a B.A. in Psychology, and then went on to complete her Master’s from North Carolina State University in Fisheries, Wildlife and Conservation Biology where she studied Loggerhead sea turtles on the NC coast.  You can contact Sara (M) at saram@piedmontwildlifecenter.org
