what is a “bioblitz”?
A BioBlitz is an event with the goal of locating and identifying as many species as possible in a short period of time, usually in one designated area. This gives biologists, researchers, and citizens a “snapshot” of the biodiversity there, and is also an excellent way to unify scientists with citizens of all ages!
Piedmont Wildlife Center’s BioBlitzes allow kids and adults alike to explore the trails and discover wildlife at Leigh Farm Park, play games, meet our Animal Ambassadors, and more. A BioBlitz is one of the best opportunities to get your family closer to nature while also helping PWC expand our Biological Inventory.
